Day 2 dawned cold in Hobart. Nonetheless we rugged up warmly and sat in the car with the demisters on high waiting for the car windows to de-ice.

We deliberately arrived at Salamanca Place early to nab a great car park then wandered down to rendezvous cafe for a hot breakfast before hitting the market proper.

Mum hadn’t been to the Salamanca market before and she loved it. She didn’t buy much but she went home with a notebook filled with ideas for the craft group at her retirement village.

After the market it was off to Mount Nelson and a delicious lunch at the Brasserie at the signal station there.

Then to Richmond so mum could trawl through the craft shops and galleries.
