Awesome highlighter is a web based program that lets you highlight part of a webpage and then send the webpage (with the highlighted bits, well, highlighted) to someone else – and the recipient can see the highlighted bits.

This is especially useful if I find something on a webpage, or in a blog post that I want to let someone else know about. Instead of cutting and pasting the relevant bits, or having the other person wade through a long article by using awesome highlighter they get my highlighted portion (similar to when we highlight part of a paper based article). They get a ‘tiny url’ type link to the webpage with the highlights.

You can also post the highlighted article to Facebook, Twitter, Delicious, Tumblr and LiveJournal.

This would have been so useful when I was studying…
